Rachel admitted to having a troubled past. 26 year old Rachel is a mother of 5, however her first three children were taken into care because of her addiction to heroin. At 18 she was sent to prison for crimes committed to pay for her addiction.
She has now been drug free for 6 years and lives in London with her two youngest children.

Now that the final 12 have been announced, it will be interesting to see where the betting goes. Up until now it’s been between Rachel Hylton, Alexandra Burke and Laura White.
Yeah, my money is still on Rachel Hylton, hope she does well. Her voice is certainly a lot stronger than some of the others.

she’s out of tune and she shouts, simple as.
her voice is mistaken by a lot of people as being powerful and strong when really its just loud. volume doesnt make a good singer, look at alexandra or a better example is leona. they have real power and can belt out notes when they need to but they have variety. she demonstrated this perfectly when she sung mary j’s version of ‘one’ she didnt know what to do with herself so just laughed and shouted through a beautiful melancholy song.
a couple of times this series, rachel has demonstrated that her toning and tuning are awful (against all odds was appalling) she also only has one way of delivery. yes, she sings amy swinehouse well but we’ve already got an amy swinehouse to sing those songs.
i think if she’s in the bottom 2 this saturday it wont matter who she’s up against. providing the judges dont do the old ‘i like you a lot/you’ve come a long way/you’ve got more to give’ thing – she’ll go.
watching her ‘perform’ while laura and austin have been eliminated makes me feel a bit sick.
I hate her and this week on Take That week she is gonna murder one of my fav songs of all time, I just can’t bare to watch it :shocked:
if she’s doing ‘rule the world’ then i am genuinely gutted!! i’m getting married in september next year and thats our choice for the all important ‘first dance’.

right guys.. first of all i genuinely belive that rachel deserves a second chance.. all of you lot talking like your righteous enough to jusge her.. your pathetic. rachel, unlike you snobs, has got the most amazing talents. and yes she sounds like winehouse but achelly winehouse is my favourite artist and despite her drug problems she has the most amazing talent england has ever seen. same with rachel. simon is the only judge apart from cheryl who knows what he’s talking about and they have sung her prasies since day one. its down to category. if simon had owned the overs this year he would of given rachel the correct songs and she would of destroyed every other act and teared apart the stage with her amazing talents. danni doesnt no what shes doing, she is realted to kylie minogue. big woop. she could never handle rachels incredible power and even with an amateaur like dannii rachel still lasted till week 7. so get over yourselfs your stuck up fools cus rachel will land a contrac whatever, she has been recognized now, and like amy winehouse she will take the country by storm. i believe in her, always have done, always will. this girl is truly amazing. love you rachel. xxxxxx :tongue:
