What on earth are these, oh my god, that song for Ollie I hate the song, it is just horrible, and Danyls what is that all about, he needed a nice toned down song this week, love the choice for Joe and interested to see Jamie do this song. Stacey can take it or leave it, bit old hat really, HIGHLIGHT of the show has to be Jedward with Ghostbuster, cannot wait to see them.
If Jamie is supposed to be rock why does he get that song?
As for Danyl singing Purple Rain, well I just don’t want to hear that.
God choice for Stacey, she has an amazing voice and doesn’t need to dance around to show it off. A dusty track will show that.
Once again Olly is being kept old and not anything that could be considered current. Some bad choices.

Just listened to Stacey sing and what a shame. She did not do that song justice at all. It is a shame and I agree with Simon Cowell that it was her worst performance.
omg just watched Olly and he is brilliant. He can sing and move to everything. That is what the X factor is all about. Real talent
I am not particularly keen on the song Purple Rain but to give credit where it is due I have to say that Dannyl did an excellent job with the song tonight.Jedward, stacey and Lloyd have not done as well tonight.
To be fair they ain’t bad song choices definately interested to hear joe and lucy because the them two songs require top vocaling, i expect Jedward and Lloyd to be in the bottom 2 this week and also Lloyd to get voted off either this week or next week because even though he might have the likeability (especially with the girls) he ain’t mature enough yet for the show but also overall he is completely SH**
After last week i think Danyl will come back stronger hes by far the best singer there and should win but i have a feeling he wont because this year dont seen to be about talent its more about who people like
I think the song choices are brill. Can’t wait to hear Danyl doing purple rain, think Jamie will be outstanding with unchained melody and Olly will rock with twist and shout. Loving the show – come on Danyl to win x
I think the whole show is now a joke. The two female judges should be ashame of themselves. Dannii should not have been there after her attack on Danny Johnson, what a disgrace. I do hope simon give Danny Johnson a contract, he has more talent than Cheryl Cole and all the contestants put together. The problem is they cannot see it mainly because of these two women continue to hammer Danny J. with negative comments. Simon is the only Judge who can see talent. The public which is mostly young and they have not a clue, why are twins there? because the young public like them. One cannot hear their voices only a display of people jumping around on a stage, that is not talent, for God sake. If Danny loses, the winner will only be a one cd and then we hear no more. That will be a waste of time. I do hope Danny wins, he has personality he look so professional on stage.
Cherry I am sure you are very sincere.but, honestly, Danyl can’t sing. I am a voice major and give voice lessons. While Danyl does hit and sustain some good notes in most of his songs (except the spitting song) on the whole, he really can’t sing. What baffles me is what you allude to in her posting. I totally agree about Simon. That is why I am so baffled by this Danyl thing. Danyl’s song last week was soooooooo bad. Danyl knew it too. I think Purple Rain will be a disaster. But, if he can pull it off, good for him. The one who has the natural talent is Joe. I don’t agree he is bland or does not go out of his comfort zone. (Big Band?) What I think is his strength is his consistency and his ability to stay on key in a variety of song genres. Honestly, it’s Danyl that can’t do that. I’m sure many don’t like Joe just like many don’t like the others. eI have to admit I don’t pay much attention to all the drama that surrounds the show which, based on the comments, seems to be influencing who can even sing and who can’t. I played Danyl’s recording to my advanced vocals class and they thought I actually was playing a trick on them — I had to convince them this was a legit performance. Danyl fans don’t even want to hear the critiques. Still, I think the bottom line is if he appeals to you, that’s not a crime nor would it be if you favored Jamie or Stacy, etc. If I had my way, I would hope all of them would sing at their highest level, keep the judges focused on the task at hand, and really award the best singer.
I agree with you Cherry the show is getting to be a big joke. Danny, Joe, Jamie and Olly are the best of the bunch. I agree also with your comments about Danni and Cheryl they are not being very fair to the acts at all. Lloyd should have gone last week and this week he has shown that he is way out of his depth. He is still young and has plenty of time to improve. Maybe he could try again next year if he has determination.
They should ban Purple Rain, how many times will we have heard that sung on x factor. Goodbye Danyl !!!
I hope Joe goes for it, I thought he could have hit a few higher notes last week, like on the original song by Journey.
Will Lloyd’s voice be any better, I think he should relax a bit and go for it, he always looks like he is capable of better and I feel dissapointed.
I think this might be the week we can finally say good bye to Jedward! Yes they are enteraining when you watch them but if you heard them on the Radio you would soon turn it over to another station!!!

Hasn’t Danyl sung Purple Rain already at somepoint? Can’t remember but it won’t be as good as Ruth last year.
Wrong song choice for Olly but I reckon he will still do a good Job and Joe possibly song too low for him???

Besides being a fan of Jamie Archer, I admire all the folk who are playing the game in the right spirit, and attempting to stretch their comfort zone. The UK is full of young people who can give a fair rendition of five or six songs, all in the same basic style. Give them something different and they fold. As a fan of Jamie, I am really cheered up in this ****-**/*** late autumn weather to see him go further outside what narrow-minded folk like Louis Walsh have ordained as being his limits. After “Hurt”, the “average pub rocker” will now sing “Unchained Melody”! Flow with the ‘Fro!!!
But I don’t see Jamie coming out the winner of this show. In terms of Simon’s pet “the real world” it’s going to be Joe. I reckon he will “inherit” all the people currently voting for the Grime. But he’s not to my taste at all! He never goes outside his comfort zone. Whatever he is meant to be singing, he just drags it into his static comfort zone and gives a note-perfect yet bland, “one style fits all” rendition. And that smile gives me the eeby-jeebies!!! It’s like someone gave Cliff Richard a drastic make-over. He looks like Cliff, he sings like Cliff, he is as bland as Cliff and as predictable as Cliff, with Cliff’s smile. I’ve heard of people falling OVER a cliff, but it seems a Cliff has fallen INTO Joe.
Joe looks like a good kid, (no Grime on him), and does, within a very narrow range of interpretation, sing everything note-perfect. He’ll sell two, maybe three albums before his fans fall into such a deep sleep they can’t buy any more, and become the most successful male winner. Jamie will be the most successful non-winner…

Olly will be awesome as usual, a song he can move to and really entertain. Plus it’s one of my all-time fave scenes in Ferris Beuller.
Joe *yawn* I totally agree with ThatOne, fantastically put description of the boredom that is Joe. Lloyd will be found out that he’s just looks, they’ll just blast the music over his voice again to hide it. Stacey another song where she won’t move. Jedward must go soon, their spot should be Rachels. I am liking Jamie more gradually as he’s trying better songs than predictable Oasis and KoL. I hope Danyl’s back to his best for this, he’ll need to be. Lucie should have just sang I Will Always Love You from her audition she’s amazing at that.
I’ll miss seeing it live as I’m at a gig but, I look forward to watching the repeat.
That one – completely wrong about Joe. He’s the only one (and maybe Lucy) who hasn’t been playing the media at full throttle with sob stories and “look at me” antics. Maybe because he can sing and isn’t as desperate for publicity as the others. Sure he could do with being a little less ingenious, but at 18 he’s well on his way to success.
Well Purple Rain is no surprise at all Danyl looks like and acts like ‘prince’ so where is the X factor seen it done it before??? Jamie’s song should showcase his talent and rock the house can’t wait.

its a tv show, and its watched for the entertainment aspect. They’ve made it this far by public vote- they must be doing something right!

In a way, it’s sad for Joe that you disagree with all I wrote about him, since I wrote that he would win.
You manifest poor analysis of the media situation. There are acts being fed to the media or feeding themselves to the media, like the Grime, acts being ignored by the media and not “offered” to th media by the show’s producers, which was Rachel’s problem, and acts that can’t twitch without the media writing a load of tosh about them, which is Jamie’s case.
If you had been paying attention to Pop Idol, X-Factor, American Idol and Britain’s Got Talent you would have noticed that pattern of behaviour behind the media attention to all those shows. It’s virtually the same across the board! (I didn’t include America’s Got Talent because ITV only show it months after the show is finished, and the coverage on YouTube is poor. But even there the scraps that do show through suggest the relationship between the show and the media is much the same.)
That one Maybe you did write that you thought that he would win but also implied that he wouldn’t deserve it. The comparison to Cliff Richards – where did that come from? Nothing like the old crooner (then or now). I actually like all the remaining contestants, exceptions being the twins (who are good entertainment but hopeless vocalists) and Lloyd who just isn’t there or thereabouts. Really not bothered who wins and as for not paying attention to Pop Idol, American Idol and Britain’s got talent – why would I? I’ve surprised myself by even bothering to write this blog – lots more interesting things to do with my time so I won’t be here again. However hope you enjoy the rest of the shows and I’m sorry my opinions don’t live up to yours. Live and let live!

I think Danyl is the best talent on the show. I really can not understand where all this nonsence came from about him not being likeable. the first time I saw him he madfe the biggest impression on me i found my self talking to people about him all the time & saying I could not wait until the live shows to see him sing again. I was shocked on the first live show when Danni Minogue (hate all her songs… dont even know one title of anyt of her rubbish songs) started slagging him off. I was truely shocked. I am really looking forwards to hearing Purple Rain from Danyl tonight. It’s a great song & can be a real belter! which we all know Danyl has the voice to belt it out. Olly is geat to watch really entertaining & like able, always look forwards to seeing him. Am really worries about Lloyd this week, Foot loose will not suit his tone, he needs to do a Jack Johnson number (predictable some mightsay, but why has he not been told to do one as yet?). Mellow songs like Jack Johnson or maybe even a Jamie Cullum number would bu much more suited. Anyway, enjoy the show tonight everyone. Danyl will be getting my vote as he IS the most talented, hope this confidence & buzz comes back this week.

Did anyone read about Danyl in the Sun? Tim bland ex bandmate has talked about 2Tone. The story was too short tho, no pictures and just a few lines. Why don’t they print some better stories so we can get a real insight into their lives and pasts I think Danyl is fascinating and would have liked Tim Bland to tell us more.
Very sadly I was around when Cliff Richard hit the charts for the first time. I can’t think of anything that would help people understand the analogy I made between Cliff the way he was when he started, but, sincerely he was very, very much like Joe. Maybe comparing Sir Cliff as he is now to Joe is not very complimentary, but my intended comparison is neither for nor against Joe, it’s just my take on the evidence from today and from the 1950s.
Jamie will not win because there is no way the teen and pre-teen girls who vote continuously until they can’t move their voting fingers any more will vote for him; he does not appeal to that demographic, so he is unlikely to win. But he really is the virtually finished article, and will have a great career, just like Chris Daughtry from American Idol. “Winning” won’t mean the same thing to Jamie as it will to Joe. Fair enough.
Jamie’s performance of Crying was a good change of mind, then an absolute scorching, original and sincere rendition. That Jon Bon Jovi should offer a contract to Jamie for a spot on the Bon Jovi tour is a massive compliment for Jamie, and quite astounding. I think Simon should have let Jamie go and brought back one of Louis’ eliminated groups, maybe with a condition obliging Jamie to do an unpaid spot on the next X-Factor, certainly a condition that Jamie cannot tour the UK while this season’s X-Factor tour will be on the road. X-Factor would have recovered some of the respect it has lost this year. Sometimes I ask myself if a deal is not done there. I see the way Jamie thanked all his supporters as a possible good-bye, but I’m probably fooling myself. Pity!
The Grime will go, probably to re-appear on Britain’s Got Talent, whether the rules allow it or not. When that happens all the young girls among their supporters will move as one to Joe, (maybe some to Lloyd until they realise that he can’t sing anything like Joe), which will give Joe an unbeatable percentage of the vote. That’s not what I want to happen; I just see the situation like that, objectively speaking.
