First, I think this show is one of the strangest shows I’ve ever followed. We don’t get in America but I accidently stumbled onto some of the singers on You Tube and started to follow it — and it has been entertaining. (Keep in mind a majority of people in the US hate Simon and tend to do the opposite of what he wants. He pushed and pushed and pushed to vote for Adam Lambert. He gave interviews, went on talk shows — and look what happened. Kris won. His debut CD is a bomb.) Any way, is it just me, or have I missed the point of the show? The show is supposed to find a popstar to get a record deal. Since the twins already have a record contract and have plans for their first single, why should they still compete on the show? It seems like those remaining should get a chance too. And, why isn’t that breaking their contractural obligation to the show? Also, it seems to me the judges are all over the place. One day they say one thing and the next day another — with Simon leading the way. I guess you could use Joe as an example. Aside from the fact that he is the best singer, both Simon and Louie called him a popstar. Simon called his one performance “brilliant” — another “note perfect.” And, yet another he said he had a bright future and was going to be around a long time. Now, he doesn’t give him the time of day. He labels him “commercial” (like Simon isn’t?!? His deadlock vote proved otherwise) yet he is as both Cheryl and Dannii say, the best singer in the competition. He now has “announced” his favorite is Stacey. (Well, if one of his two don’t win.) And, what is with this performance thing Simon has? On several songs on American Idol, Adam simply sat on a stool and sang. The one time he tried a “performance” song, Simon hated it. Is he thinking of concerts or something? I mean if I’m going to buy a CD, it’s going to be because I like the person’s voice — not if they jump up and down on a stage. The whole Danyl thing I don’t get — either for singing or performance. He’s often off-key and I’m not sure how much he has performed through his songs. He tends to wait until he’s off stage for his true performances. While I really did like his audition, that was about it. He’s hard to figure but I would tend to agree with Mrs. Daniels. Something isn’t quite right there. Too, do you all think the judges should be so public and vocal with who they think is going to win and who they are going to support (aside from the mentor thing)? Cheryl, which shocked me, said, as did Louie — but who really cares what that bird brain thinks — that Olly would win. How must that have made Joe feel? I think this was one of the points Sting was trying to make. The criticism of the younger contestants is just too harsh. So, now, Joe has to perform Saturday knowing Cheryl doesn’t think he can win, Simon wants Danyl, Olly, or Stacy, and the twit wants the twins. Dannii is the only loyal one and stands by Stacey. And, the biggest irony of all, he is the true singer.
A terrible and very dull song choice for Stacey – she’ll be voted out this week and Danni will be to blame!
You are so right Edward, its a farce. Also have to say the twins break all the rules and cant sing, Lloyd has a crap voice & is rarely in key, the judges as you say cant make up their minds what they think, I have decided to stop watching it after Jamie Archer was voted off, he definately had the most tallent, it’s been really dissapointing this year, I feel sorry for the talented contestants like Daniel, Stacey & Joe, the whole thing has been a complete joke & has been turned into a media circus.
A different corner – will show off Stacey’s strong voice and is very touching. Change the song choice!
I’ve already said enough before, but wouldn’t it be nice if just once — a nice guy could finish first? It seems given the judges and press comments on Joe he is a genuinely nice guy. That, of course, doesn’t mean the others aren’t. But the press on Joe has targeted this the most. What I think is obvious is the way a few of the mentors and singers try to manipulate the vote. Do you remember the press on Joe hitting Lucie accidently in the face with a tamborine? The press made it sound like this was a big deal and Lucie might try to get revenge blah blah blah. Then you see the You Tube vid with Joe and Lucie singing “You’re the one that I want” that shows their relationship was anything but antagonistic. You could tell how much fun they were having. Based on most of the blogs I have read, the British will pick who they think is best and will most likely be correct. (I can’t tell you how many times Simon has said on American Idol, “America got it wrong.” I didn’t buy his I would never not trust the British audience routine — and I don’t think many of the boggers did either.)By the way, when does this show end????

I hope Danyl leaves tonight, many people say he is the best singer, but he bores me and there are singers like him already. I tune in everyweekend to see, Lloyd and Jedward becuase the arent boring and i always want to see what they come out with, stacey is a bit samey samey aswell “/

Danyl is boring because Simon won’t let him off the leash, Jamie reckons he’s probably a better dancer than Ollie, was he joking? That begs the question, why will he not give Danyl something more upbeat and current, could he be saving it for later on? The media have also got it in for Danyl as well, they never seem to write anything positive. On the subject of current, how the hell was Ollies song current (Holly Williboobiies statement on Xtra Factor) How old is Fast Love ?
Edward………..your absolutly right. the judges comments, particularly louis walsh, are a joke. last week olly was poor and louis told him he was better than robbie williams! it is cleearly done, along with the stories in the press, to minipulate the voting.
i dont think joe will take the story about cheryl to heart he will see it for what it is- media rubbish- it may even make him more determined to win.

i also hope the public will have the sense to just vote for the best talent, this show has become a joke really and if i wasnt supporting joe i probably wouldnt be watching it anymore.

i really like danyl, and i don’t get why everyone thinks he’s cocky and arrogant, i think he just loves music and is very passionate if i’m honest.
lloyd can sing, but his voice just isn’t strong enough for the competition anymore.

She is a star in her own right and it would be a total sham if she goes. I certainly think she is up there with the likes of Leona, she has original, great tone and softness to her voice, like a Ava Cassidy/Faith Evans. She sings effortlessly and uniquely and this is what we want, just a great singer! Unfortunately although Danny is the best judge in my opinion, she is giving the wrong songs. The best song she sang was “live Forever” by Queen, which is a prime example of her, potential- so give her some rocking ballads guys! Although Lloydy is a cutey, I’m afraid we need to call time on him guys. All you are going to get tonight is, yoooooooooooooou gooooooooooooota haaaaaaaaaaaaave faaaaaaaaaaaaaaith. Stretched words and monotonous singing (sorry) but it is just one path for him, that’s it. Fortunately, his lucky cookie is Cheryl who is giving him great songs. Hence, this competition is becoming more like, the most popular song comp rather than the best singers. People need to bring out their original style, this show is not cutting it this way! I am sure Lloyds would be seen in a better light if he stuck to soft rock/pop stuff. We should be giving the best songs to show off the voices. Joe is a great singer, but close your eyes, is his voice any different from the best theatrical singers? Louis has a point for once!! He is cute, amazing theatrical voice. Will do well if he goes down the Donny Osmond route and be around for a while as a pop artists but long term, keep an eye (quite risky). Now, Daniel is an absolutely filled with talent. Lets just forget everything, and think about talent. He is great. My second favourite. Ok, at times, he is flat but fine-tuning will help that and he is live and human, so mistakes are inevitable. But, big but, when he sings, I do not think many come close. To sing in that range is absolutely and truly a rarity. And we want a storma of a final so lets start voting for him and Stacey guys.
I would have liked Joe to sing ‘A different corner’, he would have made this song moving, I think his voice is like George Micheal, I think Cheryl has made a mistake this week with her song choices.
I disagree with Deedee- Joes voice has a special tone to it, Yes he could sing theatre, but I think he could sing anything, he is only 18 and he will develop – I would rather listen to him than Danyl, Danyl is a good singer, but I think Joe is special. I agree with Edward about the judges, I am sure they are guided what to say. Lious is like the weather, gobble de gook and the old well known phrases, like, ‘Your gonna be a pop star’ to ‘ Your not likeable’, Rubbish…!!!! There should be another panel, who are not mentors who give the last vote, totally unbiased.
Why should the mentors choose the act when there is a dead lock… It just doesn’t work.
