Lucie Jones is the fifth act to be eliminated from the X Factor 2009.
Lucie was in the bottom two along with John and Edward after 24 hours of voting.
Lucie performed One Moment In Time by Whitney Houston, while John and Edward performed Rock DJ by Robbie Williams as their sing-off songs.
Louis Walsh voted to save John and Edward.
Dannii Minogue voted to save Lucie.
Cheryl Cole voted to save Lucie.
Simon once again decided to send the show to deadlock so the elimination was based on phone votes.
Lucie was then sent home with the least amount of public phone votes.

This is a very sad day indeed.
It’s SAD THAT Lucy left . Will miss u LUCY
Since the audition stage Simon has made incessant references regarding how ‘Jedward’ should not be in the contest, so why on earth did he not take the opportunity to eliminate them??!! I thought it was meant to be a singing contest, not a contest for two mindless little boys to jump aimlessly around a stage in an ‘attempt’ to entertain!! Poor show Simon! They are making a mokery of the show! Lucie has an amazing voice, and should never have been eliminated. Hopefully she will still make a name for herself.
It is obvious to everyone now that the whole show is a Simon Cowell set up. He knows the result of the envelope before its opened and uses the info to his advantage. He is getting rid of the better acts so that one of his wins. The man is a cheat and cannot be trusted now in any honest society. ITV are to frightened to say anything in case he takes ‘HIS’ show somewhere else.
Simon Cowel, I’ll say it. Your a Cheat and a Con Man
There’s no way Lucie’s music could interest me, BUT she is a pleasant and talented girl and I’m sure she has fans who find great pleasure in what she does. Lucie’s a valid candidate if X-F is a talent contest for singers.
Now Lucie and her fans have been disgracefully mistreated by Simon Coward. He set X-F up as a singing contest, and in previous years he has criticised candidates for the sole motive that he didn’t think they were good enough singers for X-F. So why did he come up short on courage when he had to choose between the Grime, (who should be on Britaiin’s Got Talent, don’t you think?), and Lucie? The whole point of running the final selection of the rejected act with the judges deciding on the week’s loser through a sing-off was to allow the judges to save the better singer of the two, even if the public had favoured the worst singer of the two.
Simon’s ducking of the decision on two successive occasions shows that he lacks in consistent thought and courage. That makes him unfit to be a judge, according to his own rules. Pathetic!
Chuck the Grime out for lewd behaviour and bring Lucie back. Nothing less than that will get me back to watching the whole show live. Now I grab the first YouTube posting of Jamie’s contribution, and watch live the last 15 minutes of the results show. I cannot be the only person to be discouraged by the shambles that is killing X-F, and to no longer figure in the show’s stats. Maybe I’m only part of a trickle, but the flood is on its way.
Flow with the ‘Fro!!!
That One, well said and I am another who will no longer be watching X this season after the decision on Sunday. Great they all say votes are what counts and they went to the votes cast, but those votes were cast on Saturday’s performance, not Sundays sing off, so the question is now asked, why have a sing off in the first place, again to make a mockery of the public. Why not close the lines at 7:30 on Sunday night, read the results as soon as they come on air, determine the bottom two. Have the bottom two sing off in the second part of the show, then open the lines for fifteen minutes to allow the public to vote in which time the guest stars can do their thing and announce who stay’s in the last sector of the show. That in turn eliminates, the fabulous four judges from making any decision whatsoever and it would end any speculation by the public regards who has been eliminated. By the way That One, the flood gates will open very shortly, of that I am sure, and, I fully expect my daughter to come running through to tell me this Sunday night that ” Jeddie Mercury” have been eliminated. I’ve also suggested that they should sing “Barcelona”.
Lucie Jones did not win X Factor because she was so good and a claer winner the public thought that they didn’t need to vote for the obvious winner. Quick get a record out and get it in the shops for Christmas No.1
