First we had Alexandra Burke with a throat infection, then Rachel Hylton with a throat infection and now Diana Vickers apparently has laryngitis.
ITV are saying Diana Vickers may miss the X-Factor Saturday Nov 8th live show after being stuck down with laryngitis.
Diana lost her voice on Tuesday and medication has not sufficiently helped her recovery.
The 17 year-old from Blackburn will see specialist ear, nose and throat doctors this afternoon; the doctors will then decree whether or not Diana should take place in this week’s competition.
Unfortunately Diana has already missed a lot of preparations in the run-up to tomorrow’s all-important show.
But the singer is still hoping against hope she will be able to take part in the extra special Mariah’s songbook show this week.
Another sob story if you ask me, I’d say she will be there performing with all her quirky hand movements, what do you think? leave a comment below on whether she should perform or not.

To be honest, I don’t think she needs a sob story at the moment. If it had happened a couple of weeks down the road, I might have agreed with you, but no matter how bad she sings there are others up for the chop ahead of her tomorrow. :whistle:
AJC, I agree, she doesn’t need a sob story, but I can see it being made into one when the VT comes on, Diana had to battle with laryngitis this week but surprise, surprise she has battled all odds and is here barefoot wth all five fingers beside her face to give another great performance.
No way will she be voted out this week so no need for the sob story. :silly:
qrrr. what the hell.. She will sing !!! itz just a story so when she does sing people will be like “omg shes even good with a sore throat ” im kinda annoyed she favourtite to win. there are better singers then her :blink:

Well, I guess it wasn’t a sob story, a pity she couldn’t sing tonight.
I think it’s ridiculous that she was given a “get out of jail free” card this week! It makes a mockery of the whole competition. Other acts have been ill and still performed. If she does reach the final it has to raise questions over the whole competition.

I think she will always have struggled with Mariah week, so it’s worked in her favour really. Fair or not, it’s happened.
I dunno if you watched but they did mention on X Factor that if she sung she could of had a long-term problem with it. Which means she wouldnt be able to sing again in the competition. Think before you speak :w00t:

Well on ITV 2 they showed a vt of her hollering her little heart out at a fireworks night. Larengitus??? I think not. She already got away with Blondie on a Disco night, I think Debbie Harry is consulting her lawyers as we speak. Mariah Carey night might have been a bit ‘challenging’ for her.
To all those making snipes at Diana vickers get over it. If you were her you would rather be singing on live show than suffering with laryngitis which in case you didit know is extremely painful. Diana is very talented and will make it all the way to the final. Get over your jealousy!!!!! :angry: :angry:

she has laryngitis. she very obviously couldn’t speak in the little intro, let alone sing. There would have been more outrage if she had been booted off just because she had something she didnt cause.
Its better that she gets better and stays in the competition while other much worse acts go, and if she sings just to not get booted off and then it damages her vocal chords forever, then what?

Well Well…lost her voice on tuesday? Hardly. if anyone watched the Xtra Factor after saturdays show, they would have seen her shouting and whooping and screaming her way throught the bonfire night footage….hmmm… I felt really sorry for her on the live show, but after seeing that I am wondering now what really is going on, she was WAILING!
if she does nt sing tonight i think they should still open her voting line its not fair on others i know shes sick but she cant bypass the whoile competition. If her fans love her so much they’l still vote,
