Joe still lives with his family in South Sheilds; he started singing a few years ago after playing around on a karaoke machine.
Since then, he’s performed in a few local musicals (inc Grease) and entered the ‘Music Means Life’ competition in 2008. This is a regional singing competition in North-East and he came 3rd – he’s also entered ‘Pride of Tyne Side’ competition and won ‘performer of the year’.
He entered The X Factor in 2007 and reached Bootcamp but decided to leave the competition as he felt he was too young and wanted more experience (hence entering lots of local competitions). Since then he feels he made the right decision and is very happy to be back on The X Factor in 2009.
He has just started dance training and would love to perform around the world to thousands of people.

Joe i think your fantastic! I have to say i’ve fallen in love with you! Not just for the fact that you’ve an outstanding voice, but also that your personality is great and even when i watch your performances again i sometimes have it on mute to watch and just seeing your face makes my heart race! Like last saturday when you sang ‘Don’t stop believing’, i was before that during the day thinking to myself i believe if we are ever to get in contact then i feel there would be something great there, so when you sang the lyrics ‘don’t stop believing, hold on to that feeling’, my breath was taken away as it shocked me how it realated to what i was thinking and again my heart raced more. So true! I’ve seen one of those programmes showing that Donny comes out as No1 of the top 50 Teen idols – so that would explain why Joe might win all the votes of a generation of women in their early 50s (like me!). Also (and coming from that era) I’d love to hear Joe & Leona do a duet from the Diana & Marvin album!
