John is still at school with his brother and they live with their parents in Dublin. The earliest memory he has of singing is joining the school choir when he was 11 years old.
When he was 14 years old he entered a school talent competition and competed against Edward, he came 3rd and Edward came 1st.
John likes to sing everywhere, bus, shops, streets. The boys once bumped into the Pussycat Dolls in a Dublin hotel bar and they sang to them – the girls invited them to a show after party but sadly they were too young to go.
Their ultimate dream is to entertain and keep audiences happy.

granted, this years xfactor contestants are pretty poor compared to previous years but all can sing better than the twins. I apologize if I offend anyone with this next statement but when I look at them, and lets imagine the terrifying possibility they win…then I see only one career path for them, not a tour, not a stadium…blue coats working at butlins.
actually alnite i am perfectly sand a pity u need a certificate to proof yr sanity lol and as for the twonks well i will refer to la kias statement they may indeed go far all the way to butlins or bluecoats hahah that is about all they can manage, as for the competiton alnite u should listen to the judges they all no this is a singin comp not britians got talent and if the twonks are deemed to have the ‘x factor’ god help us all it is a sad state of affairs when two lads who cant sing a note and rely on backin vocals may end up winnin this competiton when ALL the rest of the contestants have to some to degree more talent and are more deserving of the winners prize oh and alnite keep on betting its yr money yr burnin or is that yr brain doing overtime thinkin of yr idols in yr spandex outfit keep on smilin alnite and keep on posting yr little statements its the hightlight of my day to read and laugh my arse of at ya yr so funny

Mature beyond their years and great ambassadors to Ireland. They are now on coarse to make a great deal of money. Winners all the way and their acceptance of their faith showing decorum and worthiness by praising Olly was the best way to give the 2 fingers to the likes of Louisa ,the other halfwit LA , the demented primitive that calls himself judge (Sludge would be more appropriate) and the rest of the losers that gave these lovely pleasant young lads a very very hard time. I think it ridiculous how harsh you’re all being to the two lads, I have to admit I was against them at the beginning, but they totally grew on me the past couple of weeks, they seem like really nice people and all they want to do is have a good time and enjoy themselves. I don’t think they ever had a chance at winning, and they can’t sing as well as the other contestants, they just have huge personalities but it made the show entertaining and tbh I think it will be a little bit boring without them there, I think most people were watching the show to see what they were going to do next, I thought they were hilarious!
and I’m really gonna miss them!
I just think people should quit all the harsh comments and everything, there really isn’t any need at all. They’re out the competition now so you’ve got what you wanted in the end.
i hope that they do get a career from this though, they’d be great as TV presenters on a kids show or something.

i am sorry to burst yr bubbles and without being offensive did u not notice wot they did to the contestant in one of the auditions pretty crap of them really they have no-one to blame but themselves for the negative publicity they knew wot they were doing when they entered and they were all to happy to get their pictures in EVERY newspaper they could so if they cant handle the press and negative comments now god help them in the future i am sure if they do manage to gain a career they will have a lot worse to come they have no future as singers thats for sure and if they become childrens entertainers god help us all so many better acts have left the comp just to make way for these two jumped up little upstarts and i am very happy they have gone at least we have a REAL singin competition like danni minogue said coz thats what this is, put them on britians got talent and i am sure they would win i dont feel sorry for them at all the x factor has been around long enough for ppl to know what the show entails so good riddens to the twonks finally we will get some sanity

it takes some guts to be able to do what john and edward have done.
and i respect them because they were able to get through to the final shows.
plus the fact they came out every week and were able to perform with people booing them off. tbh there must be a lot of people out there who like them if they stayed in as long as they have.
i think they did pretty well given the circumstances with the press, its a lot for someone of their age to handle.
There’s plenty people who’ve been in the show, and can’t really sing…. the conway sisters, Eoghan Quigg wasn’t brilliant either, diana vickers, i never got her, rachel adedeji, she wasn’t amazing, neither was jamie, but he was entertaining and there’s plenty others, tbh its gonna happen every year where people don’t agree on some of the contestants, but there’s no point in causing huge arguments over it, there’s more to life.
i just think people should stop taking the show so seriously, its only entertainment, and Simon Cowell knew exactly what he was doing the week lucy went, people weren’t getting her, even though she had a fantastic voice, you’ve got to have more than just the voice, there’s personality as well. and it was obvious by the fact that she went that the country found john and edward more entertaining, personally i’d rather watch someone who is more entertaining, thats the whole point. Plus Simon with his business head on, sees sense in putting more money into someone who’s noticed by the public, and is gonna be remembered, than someone who will win with their voice and then fades away a few month later.
Take Leon Jackson for instance, he won the show, i loved him, but people didn’t find him entertaining and he’s faded away, so they don’t want to make the same mistake again.

and yes it doesn’t seem logical when they can’t sing and its a singing competition, but that’s the reality of the show. lots of good people miss a chance for others, there’s just no use arguing cause its gonna happen over and over again and no once really cares what we’re gonna say about it really.
i know i can’t sing so don’t tend to bother =D, though i do a pretty mean spandau ballet impersonation, but I can act and have performed in front of quite a big crowd…so i do know what it’s like to perform…and in my opinion the killers are terrible live. i like their stuff but i don’t think he can sing when live.
